Accounting App

Overview
At Voxtus, we partnered with accounting professionals to build a robust, modular, and intelligent Accounting App using Microsoft Power Platform’s Canvas App framework. This enterprise-grade application is tailored for accountants and financial advisors who manage multiple clients and need a centralized digital platform to handle every aspect of their accounting workflows.
The solution replaces traditional spreadsheets and disconnected tools with a modern, cloud-based system that enables client-centric financial management, real-time transaction tracking, chart of accounts, GST compliance, customer/vendor handling, and fiscal year control — all embedded in a consistent, user-friendly experience.
Dashboard Screen (Landing Page):
The landing screen features a modern layout with a left-side navigation menu consisting of three key sections: Dashboard (default), Clients, and GST Management. The main area displays recent clients and recent transactions, along with summary cards showing total clients and active vendors for a quick overview.

Client Screen:
When the user navigates to the Client module, they can:
- View all clients in a scrollable, searchable gallery
- Use a Search Bar to quickly locate clients by Client Name or Company

- Click "Add Client" to open a popup form for adding a new client
- Use the "View" option for any client to access their complete profile and financial setup

Client Details Screen:
Upon clicking “View” on any client, the app navigates to the Client Details Screen, which features a tabbed interface. Each tab corresponds to a core accounting module for that specific client:
Client Tab:
- Displays client’s core data: company name, address, GST number, status, fiscal year, and more
- Edit icon at the top right to update data inline
- Client form updates reflect throughout the system in real-time

Chart of Accounts Tab:
- Displays a gallery of all financial accounts linked to the selected client
- A dropdown filter allows users to search accounts by type (e.g., Assets, Expenses)

- Users can Add Account using a popup form

- Edit – Opens a popup to modify account data
- View Transactions – Displays a transaction gallery filtered by the selected account
- When viewing transactions:

- A Transaction Type filter enables narrowing results
- Top-right account info displays Account Name, Type, and Balance
- Clicking on a transaction navigates to a Transaction Details screen

Transaction Tab:
- Shows all transactions linked to the client, regardless of account

- Top bar includes a New Transaction button that opens a data entry form

- Fields include Date, transaction No., Client, Vendor, Account Involved, Type (Credit/Debit), Amount, Currency, and Description
- Each transaction can be viewed in detail via a dedicated Transaction Details Screen

Customer Tab:
- Gallery of all customers tied to the selected client
- Includes both Active and Inactive customers
- Add Customer button and edit functionality

Vendor Tab:
- Similar layout and features as Customer Tab
- Manage vendor-specific data, including status and updates

GST Tab:
- Display and manage GST data and compliance information
Fiscal Year Tab Tab:
- Lists all fiscal years associated with the client
- Each entry includes a status: Active or Inactive
- When a new fiscal year is added, the app:

- Automatically deactivates the previous year
- Marks the new year as Active
- Reflects the active year in client forms and transactions
