NRC Decision Flow: Decision & Approval Management System

We developed a centralized Decision Flow Management Application to manage business decisions, approvals, workflow stages and supporting documentation. The solution gives users a structured process for creating, reviewing, progressing and tracking decisions while maintaining secure, role-based access.

Model-Driven Power App

  • Developed a centralized application for managing business decisions and related records.
  • Designed forms, views, business processes and status tracking to support the complete decision lifecycle.
  • Provided users with a structured interface for reviewing and progressing decisions.

Decision & approval workflow

  • Implemented structured decision flows with defined stages and statuses.
  • Supported review and approval processes across different stakeholders.
  • Automated notifications and task-based activities throughout the workflow.
  • Maintained process history and decision status for better visibility and accountability.

Dataverse

  • Designed the core data model for decisions, users, workflow stages and related business records.
  • Established relationships between business entities to support a scalable application architecture.
  • Used Dataverse security capabilities to control access to sensitive business information.

Role-based security

  • Implemented role-based access using Microsoft Entra ID security groups and Dataverse security roles.
  • Configured separate access levels for administrators and standard application users.
  • Supported controlled access to business records and associated documents.

SharePoint integration

  • Integrated SharePoint for managing supporting documents and files associated with decisions.
  • Connected application records with the corresponding SharePoint documentation.
  • Implemented controlled document access based on user permissions.

Power Automate

  • Automated workflow notifications and approval-related activities.
  • Triggered actions based on decision status and workflow progression.
  • Reduced manual coordination between users involved in the decision process.

Production deployment

  • Configured the production environment, security groups, service account and required integrations.
  • Supported deployment verification and post-production stabilization.
  • Provided hypercare support following production deployment.
